Put work on the calendar
Each line on a work order is scheduled with spans: a start day and an end day, with optional times. A line can carry more than one, so work that stops and restarts (rain, an inspection, waiting on another trade) reads honestly instead of as one long bar across days nobody was on site.
Schedule a line
- Open the project and go to the Work order tab.
- Expand the line and click Schedule this line.
- Pick a day, or a start and end day. Leave the times blank for an all-day span, or set a start and end time.
- Work got interrupted? Use Add another span on the same line, and the gap stays a gap.
Or drag it on the planner
Open Projects → Project Planner, or the Planner link on any line. Switch between Day, Week and Month, drag across an unscheduled row to schedule it, and drag an existing bar to move it. Expand a project to see its lines and drag each span on its own row.
Where the schedule turns up
- Scheduled now, on the project: what's happening on that job right now, and what's coming in the next week.
- My work, for each person: Today, This week, Later, with anything unscheduled tucked away at the bottom.
- Staffing: every scheduled line across every project that nobody is on yet.
A line with no spans is simply unscheduled, and it never shows up on Staffing. That's deliberate: Staffing puts people on work, it never sets dates. Dates belong to the work order and the planner.
